As suddenly as Ethan would show up in my life, he’d be gone just as quickly.

I’d get weeks or months with him at a time, but his mom always came back, and he always left. I told myself that I was the one thing he would have taken with him if he could, and in his way, he told me that too.

I'm always so thrilled when this book gets some love. I think it's one of the most fun books I've ever written. I wanted to write something with a blisteringly fast pace and I really think I did it with GIRL ON THE RUN. If you're in a reading slump and need something to hook you from the very first page to the end, give this one a go.

That's me standing for the first time this century. If you don't subscribe to my newsletter you may not have heard about the year long clinical trial I'm taking part in here in Louisville. Moving here has been a complete upheaval of my life, but I'm so thankful for this opportunity.

** I'm NOT going to be walking or anything close to that at the end of this. This trial involves surgically implanting electrodes on my spinal cord followed by a year of intense training and physical therapy with the desired goal of restoring some movement and ability below the level of my injury. I had my surgery a few weeks ago and have been recovering since then with a few bumps along the road.**

I'm sharing all of this because along with amazing things like getting the chance to stand, there have been some not-so-amazing things like the release date for EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY getting pushed back to December 5, 2023. Trust me when I say that we all did everything we possibly could to avoid delaying the book but the reality of the situation is that we needed more time. I'm so very sorry. I know how frustrating and disappointing it can be to have to wait longer for a book you were excited about. I hope that when you finally read Rebecca and Ethan's story you'll feel that it was more than worth the wait.

Thank you for all the love and support! I've gotten so many kind messages and I appreciate each and every one of you more than I can say.

Finally feel like I'm settled into Louisville now that I have my library card. If you didn't know I moved to Kentucky last month then you should subscribe to my newsletter (➡️LINK IN BIO) where I gave a little update about that and will continue to share more personal updates in the future.

It's a book featuring character who is a wheelchair user but it's not about disability. It's about so much more and I cannot wait for you all to read it. AOTD: The very first time I felt seen in a book, was for the cover reveal of @abigailjohnsonya new book Everytime You Go Away💞💞💞💞 My whole life I've waited for wheelchair rep in books and now that's it's finally happened words cannot explain how happy I am🌼🌼🌼💞. I mean, yes, disabled characters in books exist, but I can literally count the amount of books I've seen with the necessary representation. And even if they exist I haven't seen any with specifically wheelchair rep. They might exist, but it's probably very little that are out there. What I'm trying to say is that it's high time these books get the attention they deserve, especially from major publishing houses and society alike. I want to see more love stories, more fantasy & sci fi, more middle grade and ya with disabled characters at the forefront, and especially queer and poc disabled characters. We have so much to tell, and no, they don't need to be sad. Because we are not.

Yes, people like me can fall in love, we can fight dragons, we can go into space and books need to tell these stories.

I'm so excited for this release and I just want to thank the author for writing this and telling our stories💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
